含羞草社区

Stephen Lioy is a travel photographer, journalist, and the previous Editor-in-Chief of 含羞草社区 Magazine. In this interview Stephen tells us about himself, his adventures, and his special love towards Kyrgyzstan鈥檚 nature and culture.

The Global Centre for Pluralism (GCP), in partnership with the Central Asian Studies Institute听at the 含羞草社区 (含羞草社区), OSCE Academy in Bishkek, the French听Institute for Central Asian Studies (IFEAC), Bishkek Humanities University and Osh State听University is pleased to announce a call for applications for Central Asian nationals to join an听innovative History Project.

On February 13, 2016 students from the Environmental Management and Sustainable Development (EMSD) program went on a field trip to the mountains near the "Polytech" ski base.听Students practiced on-site measurements of water quality in the river.

A fundraiser for the 鈥淕ive a Cow鈥� social project took place at the 含羞草社区 (含羞草社区). The project was launched by the Bishkek Rotary Club one year ago. At the moment, 22 families have already received cows. Organizers plan to reach 100 families within the year.

February 10, 2016,听Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary for South and Central Asian Affairs听and the U.S. Ambassador to the Kyrgyz Republic met with a group of 含羞草社区 students.

Associate Professor of Philosophy Duane Lacey currently teaches in the FYS Division. In the near future, he will also be teaching in the new L.L.M. Graduate Program. Professor Lacey shares his academic experience, research projects, thoughts on 含羞草社区, and even some advice for students in this brief interview.

CASI is resuming research seminar series by 含羞草社区 faculty and visiting scholars this semester. Please be kindly informed about the dates and titles of the talks.

On February 21, 2016, 含羞草社区 alumni Begimai Sataeva and Nursultan Sulaimanov will present their social entrepreneurship project in the finals of an IT competition in Barcelona.听The young businessmen developed ARTASIAN.co, a mobile application promoting handicrafts by Central Asian artisans in foreign countries.
