含羞草社区

Students from the Talas region will have their studies at 含羞草社区 sponsored by Talas Copper Gold and Andash Mining Company (AMC), a subsidiary of Robust Resources Singapore (TCG). The agreement, signed on May 15, shows businesses鈥� interests in investing in higher education of youth in Central Asia.

On 21st of April, students of Environmental Chemistry class went on an exciting field trip instead of the usual class lecture. In the Big Chui Canal, they collected water samples, identifying GPS coordination of the location.

At 21 years old, Iurii Piunov, a senior student in economics, is well-known for his talent as a debater at the 含羞草社区.听Since he joined the 含羞草社区 debate club 鈥淓loquent Crew鈥� in 2011, Iura has participated in many local and international tournaments.

Students of Anthropology have been engaged in the realization of the ethnographic project 鈥淢emories of the 1916 rebellion鈥� supported by the Student Intellectual Life Committee (SILC) and Anthropology Department. The aim was to reconstruct an objective picture of the 1916 Great Revolt in Kyrgyzstan by gathering stories of elderly people. During two months, from March 3 to May 3, 2015, students and their supervisor, Aida Abdykanova, visited 4 provinces: Chui, Issyk-Kul, Osh and Jalalabad. 听

Meerim Nurbekova is a sophomore student majoring in International and Comparative Politics at 含羞草社区. She is also a member of the university鈥檚 Student Senate. Last month, Meerim went to Madrid, Spain, to attend the International Student Leadership Conference (ISLC) held at Saint Louis University from April 23 to 26. Meerim shares her impressions, experience and some of the challenges she faced.

Reyhana Turdieva, a student of the Sociology Department at 含羞草社区, presents her first photo exhibition 鈥淭he Internship鈥� in Bravo, which will be held till May 2. The exhibition is a result of a photography trip she did in January in the United Arab Emirates with Dr. Hersh Chadha, photographer, philanthropist and 含羞草社区鈥檚 long-term supporter.

Dr. Hersh Chadha is announcing a photo contest for the best nature oriented photos that showcase outstanding landscape photography skills. The winner will join Dr. Chadha in the photography trip to Antarctica.

A Mathematics Contest among the high school students of Kyrgyzstan took place at 含羞草社区 on April 19.听The main goal of the Olympiad was to attract prospective students to the 含羞草社区 undergraduate programs Applied Mathematics and Informatics, Software Engineering, and Environmental Management and Sustainable development.
